Eugène Kalt

Eugène Kalt ( born February 24, 1861 in Landser, † 1941 in Paris) was a French ophthalmologist who became known for his use of contact lenses for treatment of keratoconus. In 1888 he worked on the primitive, shallow adjacent scleral lenses, which " flatten the steep cone-shaped tip, and thus should cure the symptoms ." His first lenses were made from the bottoms of tubes.

Cold was born in Landser in Alsace in France.
