Eureko

Eureko B. V. is the name of the largest Dutch insurance group with its headquarters in Zeist. The Group consists of twelve companies in the insurance and reinsurance sector.

The main shareholder is the Centraal Beheer Achmea, a Dutch insurance company, which corresponds to the structure after a German mutual insurance association. Another major shareholder is the Dutch Rabobank, since they earned their insurance subsidiary in 2005 in the group and in turn to the major shareholder (share as of January 1, 2009, approximately 32 %) was.

The group has a turnover in 2007 of € 14.8 billion achieved, with a staff of 24 035 people ( Source: Annual Report 2007 ).

For several years, the group has grown strongly to Eastern and Southeastern Europe. Important acquisition here is a large share of the Polish market leader Powszechny Zakład Ubezpieczeń, by far the largest insurance group in Central and Eastern Europe. In December 2008, they also acquired the Russian insurers Oranta.
