Europa 7

Europa 7 is the name of an Italian pay - TV operator of media entrepreneur Francesco Di Stefano with a license for nationwide terrestrial broadcasting from the year 1999. The transmitter then won a tender before the program Rete 4 of the Mediaset group of Silvio Berlusconi. Rete 4 should have clear according to its terrestrial broadcasting slot in favor of Europe 7.

Only much later, after channel reorganization in Italy ( now one uses the channel spacing of Western Europe) you almost went nationwide in the VHF band III on channel 8 in a single frequency network in the successor standard DVB -T2 broadcasting. The programs (some in HD ) encrypted now be seen only with a subscription.

In June 2012, the Italian government was obliged to pay compensation in the amount of 10 million euros in Europe 7.
