European Union Military Staff

The Military Staff of the European Union ( engl. European Union Military Staff, EUMS) shall lead the EU operations under the ESDP. The common security and defense policy (CSDP ) is part of the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union and therefore under the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, who shall also be the European External Action Service as a diplomatic arm.

In addition to the direct subordination to the High Representative, the line is matched directly with the European Union Military Committee ( EUMC), the Assembly of European defense ministers. EU INTCEN and EUMS are part of the Single Intelligence Analysis Capacity ( SIAC ). As part of SIAC (EUMS ) are brought together civilian (EU INTCEN ) and military intelligence service.
