Eusternbach

The Eusternbach north of Langenberg

The Eusternbach, referred to as Toll headwaters stream and in the middle reaches as Linzelbach, is an orographic left tributary of the Ems in North Rhine -Westphalia, Germany. It has a length of 15.9 km.

River course

The Eusternbach arises as the " Great Bach" in the Beckumer Bergen within the Oelder district Stromberg and initially flows from the southwest direction. After about 1.8 km flow path he turns to easterly flow direction and crosses the approximately 12 -acre nature reserve Tollbachtal in which it is a semi-natural V-shaped valley.

After a little over five kilometers distance the water flows to the left side coming also from Stromberg gas stream and is referred to from this point as " Linzelbach ". After another two kilometers of the Linzelbach leaves the Oelder city and then forms, now under the name " Eusternbach ," the border between the municipality and the city Langenberg Rheda -Wiedenbrück.

North of the peasantry Selhorst the Eusternbach changes its flow direction to the north, take the next left onto Holt trench and shall thereupon enter definitively into the Rheda- Wiedenbrücker city. After receiving the tapered from Batenhorst Patkenbaches and crossing the peasantry Röckinghausen the Eusternbach forms the western end of the forest area " wooden town " and then opens, in the south of the district Wiedenbrück, left in the Ems.

The waters overcomes during its flow path a height difference of 72 meters, thus results in an average bed slope of 4.5 ‰.

Characteristics

The course of the Eusternbaches can be divided into two types of flowing water: from the source to the confluence with the Refit trench east of Batenhorst the water body is considered pebble embossed lowland stream (type 16) from here is one of Bach with increasingly -widening flood plain to its mouth as Small lowland rivers in river and stream valleys (type 19).

In addition, the Eusternbach can assign two fish regions: from the source to the mouth of Holt trench the water belongs to the " upper trout type lowlands ", from there to the mouth of the " lower trout type lowlands ".
