History

Stromberg was first mentioned in 1177 as a country castle of the Bishops of Münster ( Westphalia). Until 1803 it was fürstbischöflicher County, afterwards titular independent.

On January 1, 1975 Stromberg was incorporated into Oelde.

The Holy Cross
