Eva Henning

Eva Henning, born as Eva Wetlesen ( born May 10, 1920 in Newark, New York) is a Swedish film and theater actress.

Life

Eva Henning is the daughter of the Norwegian Edgar Voss Wetlesen and the Swede Ragni Frisell. The surname Henning acquired it by the second marriage of her mother to actor Uno Henning. From 1938 to 1940 she attended acting school of the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm and then stepped in numerous plays and films. Particularly successful were her years with her second husband, the actor and director Hasse Ekman. During this time she also acted in two films by Ingmar Bergman. Following her marriage to the Norwegian actor Toralv Maurstad 1954 she played on Norwegian stages from 1968 to 1970 Folkteatern in Gothenburg. In the movies she appeared in the mid- 1950s to only sporadically, but it regularly on the radio.

Eva Henning was married three times, with Jochum Beck- Friis 1943-1946, with Hasse Ekman 1946 to 1953 and with Toralv Maurstad from 1954 ( this marriage was later divorced).
