Eva Ström

Eva Ström (* 1947 in Lidingö ) is a Swedish writer, literary critic and doctor.

Life

Eva Ström trained as a doctor and worked from 1974 to 1988 in this profession. In subsequent years, she focused on work as a writer and literary critic. She wrote primarily poetry and prose. As a critic, she worked primarily for the newspaper Sydsvenskan.

Ströms poetic debut was in 1977 with the brin other Zeppelinaren instead. The literary breakthrough came two years later with stone child. Since then, she has published a number of attention- arousing collections of poetry, including Brandenburg, Revbensstäderna, Rött vill till Rött and Kniv och flod. Her poems are known for the typical medical imagery and a female association sphere. But they also wrote novels such as Bröd and Claire leende and 1994 a biography of Edith Södergran.

She was elected for her performances in Humanities and outstanding contributions to the science as Head of the Academy of Sciences on 20 January 2010.

Today Eva Ström lives in Kristianstad.
