Evaldas Petrauskas

Evaldas Petrauskas (* March 19, 1992 in Šilutė ) is a Lithuanian amateur boxer in the lightweight. He has been, among other things Cadet European Champion, European Junior Champion, Vice World Champion of Youth and Youth Olympic champion. In 2012 he also won the bronze medal at the Summer Olympics in London.

Boxing career

The 1.64 m high attack Boxer was at the national level in 2008 Lithuanian Junior Featherweight Champion, Lithuanian Junior Champion in 2010 and 2011 Lithuanian lightweight champion lightweight.

Already at the 12th Cadet European Championships 2007 in Hungary, he won the silver medal in the bantamweight. He defeated it Tamerlan Abdullayev from Azerbaijan 37:17, Robert Konnyu from Hungary 24:8 and only lost in the final of the Russian Vitali Dunaitsew 10:20.

In 2008 he won the featherweight 13 Cadet European Championships in Bulgaria. He suggested Miladin Simanic from Serbia prematurely Hulio Vrenozi from Albania 20:4, 11:8 Artur Kirajan from Armenia and again Tamerlan Abdullayev from Azerbaijan 16:3.

In the 21th European Youth Championships in Poland in 2009 he won the gold medal in lightweight. After victories against Airin Ismetow from Bulgaria 9-0, the German Erich Fuhr 4:1 and 6:1 Gajbatulla Hajialijew from Azerbaijan, he moved into the finals where he defeated the White Russians Kiril Romantsewitsch 5:0.

In 2010 he was vice-champion of youth in lightweight. He defeated Sung Hwan in South Korea and Brett Mather of Australia each prematurely and Donato from Italy Cosenza 4-0 and Kamran Bachschalijew from Azerbaijan 3-0. In the final, he lost nearly 3:4 with the Indians Vikas Krishan.

In the same year he started at lightweight at the first Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore and won a gold medal again. He had in the quarter-finals started for Germany Thomas Vahrenholdt 6:2 defeated, defeated in the subsequent semi-final now the Indians Vikas Krishan 4:3 and sat down in the final with 13:4 again against the Australian Brett Mather through.

In the European Olympic qualification in April 2012 in Turkey, he defeated the lightweight Eric Pambani from Spain 24:10, the Slovaks Tomas Vano 13:8 and David Joyce of Ireland 19:10. In the 30th Summer Olympic Games in London in 2012, he won his first fight against Miklós Varga from Hungary significantly with 20:12 on points. In December 2012, Petrauskas still won the silver medal in the light welterweight, at the first U -22 European Championships in Russia's Kaliningrad. Through victories against Chabane Fehim from France ( 12:9 ), Artur Kirasjan from Armenia ( 15:7 ) and Oleg Nekljudow from Ukraine ( 19:8 ), he was drafted into the final, where he joined the Russians Awak Usljan ( 8:13 ) subject.

At the 40th European Championships in June 2013 in Minsk, he won the light welterweight against the Czech Olympian Zdenek Chladek, but different in the quarterfinals against the French Abdelmalik Ladjali out on points. Also at the 17th World Championships in October 2013 in Almaty, he left in the quarter- final against the Brazilians Éverton Lopes, after he had defeated previously Wuttichai Masuk of Thailand and Dmitri Galagot from Moldova.
