Evan Williams (entrepreneur)

Evan Williams ( born March 31, 1972 in Nebraska ) is an American entrepreneur who has founded several Internet companies.

Williams founded in 1999 together with Meg Hourihan the company Pyra Labs, where he developed, among others, the successful website Blogger.com. On 17 February 2003 Pyra Labs was sold to Google. Williams was then employed until October 2004 on Google.

Together with Biz Stone and Jack Dorsey, he developed the software Twitter and founded in April 2007, the eponymous company. In October 2010, he announced that the former COO Dick Costolo has approached his successor as CEO. According to information from Williams wants to focus again more on the development of products.
