Evelyn Dennison Hone

Evelyn Dennison Hone (* 1911 in Rhodesia, † September 1979) was the last Governor of Northern Rhodesia.

When Sir Evelyn Hone ennobled, he joined the office as Governor on 23 April 1959 as the successor to Sir Arthur Edward Trevor Benson. During his tenure, he made ​​a major contribution that Northern Rhodesia was able to be independent as Zambia State. His tenure ended on 24 October 1964, when the state established and Zambia Kenneth Kaunda became its first president.

Several schools, buildings, and a College of Arts named after Evelyn Hone, Evelyn Hone College as of Applied Arts and Commerce in Lusaka.
