Evelyn Emmet, Baroness Emmet of Amberley

Evelyn Violet Elizabeth Emmet, Baroness Emmet of Amberley, Amberley in the County of Sussex of (birth name: Evelyn Violet Elizabeth Rennell Rodd; * March 18, 1899, † 10 October 1980) was a British politician of the Conservative Party, the long nine years Members of the House of Commons was, and in 1964 was as a result of the Life peerages Life Peeress Act 1958 a member of the House of Lords.

Life

Rennell Rodd Evelyn, daughter of politician and diplomat James Rennell Rodd, graduated after attending the St Margaret 's School in Bushey study at Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford. From 1923 Thomas Addis Emmet closed marriage two children were born.

Her political career began when she was elected in 1925 for the Conservative Party member of the London County Council, to which it belonged until 1934. After the end of World War II Evelyn Emmet 1946 Member of the Council of Graftschaft West Sussex and stayed in that until 1967 a member. At the same time she served from 1951 to 1954 as a member of the National Advisory Committee of the Women's Association of the Conservative Party ( Conservative Women's National Advisory Committee).
