Evelyn Regner

Evelyn Regner ( born January 24, 1966 in Vienna) is an Austrian politician of the Social Democratic Party and Member of the European Parliament.

Life

Evelyn Regner was born in 1966 in Vienna and grew up in Vienna's second district, where they visited the Sigmund-Freud- school and has matured in this. After high school, she studied law in Vienna and Salzburg.

First sprinklers worked as a refugee consultant at Amnesty International. From 1996 she was a social policy expert of the Austrian Trade Union Federation ( OGB ). Then she moved to Brussels, where she nearly nine years in charge of the Liaison Office of the Austrian Trade Union Federation. In addition, she was a member of the European Economic and Social Committee, in which she campaigned for the rights of workers.

Intermediate term, the mother of two children returned to Vienna to conduct the OGB staff position EU and International Affairs, before she was elected in June 2009 to the European Parliament.

Currently sprinkler is a member of the Management Board and the OGB OGB National Executive Committee and a member of the Presidium of the Group of Social Democratic trade unionists (FSG ) and the FSG- federal parliamentary party executive.

Work in the European Parliament

As a Socialist member sprinkler belongs to the Party of European Socialists, and is a member of the S & D Group in the European Parliament. She is also deputy head of the delegation of the Austrian Social Democrats in the European Parliament.

Sprinkler works with several committees as Members of the European Parliament. She is Deputy Chair of the Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI ), in which she uses primarily for the rights of workers by transnational companies. Most recently, sprinkler sat in the JURI Committee for a balanced representation of men and women on supervisory boards one. For their efforts, she was nominated " gender equality" from the Parliament Magazine MEP for the Award 2013 in the category.

She is also deputy member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs ( EMPL), which is responsible in the field of social policies for working conditions, training and the free movement of workers and pensioners.

In November 2012 Evelyn Regner traveled to Istanbul and Ankara, to make the " intolerable conditions in the work area " attention after more than 300 workers were terminated on Turkish Airlines via SMS without notice and without clearance. Regner also expressed solidarity with those 20 former DHL employees who have been dismissed because of their union membership, and the last with those demonstrators who used in Turkey for more democracy.

The advisory committee to the Code of Conduct for Members of the European Parliament Evelyn Regner is social democratic Chefverhandlerin.
