Evenus (mythology)

Evenus (Greek Εὔηνος or Εὐηνός ) is a river god in Greek mythology. He is the son of the war god Ares and Demo Nike. He is the brother of Molo, Thestios and Pylos.

His only daughter Marpessa he loses in a chariot race at Ida's. Since he can not overcome this loss, he plunges it into the river Lykormas (now. Evinos, AltGr Εὔηνος ).
