Everclear (band)

Everclear is an American rock band that was founded in 1992 by frontman and singer Art Alexakis.

Band History

Everclear was formed in 1992 in Portland. For most of their career the band consisted of Art Alexakis ( born April 12, 1962 Los Angeles, USA; vocals, guitar), Craig Montoya (* September 14, 1970; bass, vocals ) and Greg Eklund (* April 18, 1970, drums). Eklund replaced his predecessor Scott Cuthbert in 1994.

Appeared in 1993, the band's debut album, World of Noise, with a small independent label. A short time later, the band signed a contract with the major label Capitol Records, the World of Noise reissued in 1994. The successor Sparkle and Fade, published in 1995 proved to be quite successful: in the American album charts the work came down to rank 25 Political Critical texts and problems of youth were largely text -determining.

The third album of the band, So Much for the Afterglow, was released in 1997 and was also represented on the charts.

In August 2003 they separated then to pursue solo projects. However, the founding members are still friends.

In autumn 2003, Alexakis decided after a solo tour, proceed with Everclear. In March 2004, the band first appeared on a new cast, besides Alexakis they consisted of bassist Sam Hudson, guitarist Dave French, drummer Eric Bretl and later keyboardist Josh Crawley together. Soon, however Bretl was replaced by the old Everclear drummer Brett Snyder. In this constellation, Everclear, published in 2006 under the label Eleven Seven Music Album "Welcome to the Drama Club". 2008 then the Covercompiliation The Vegas Years was released. In addition, Brett Snyder drummer Tommy Stewart was replaced by the former Godsmack. 2009 left all the members - except Alexakis - the band and were replaced by four new people.

Everclear in the film

In the movie Loser - Even losers are lucky noticed Paul (Jason Biggs ), that Dora ( Mena Suvari ) is a big fan of the band and worried concert tickets. So there is a short section of a Everclear concert in the film. The group was also represented on soundtracks of films such as Scream 2, American Pie, Detroit Rock City and Not Another Teen Movie.
