Everytime You Go Away is a pop song by American singer Daryl Hall. The cover version by musician Paul Young was a number-one hit in the U.S. in 1985.

The original version is included on Hall & Oates Album Voices of 1980, it was never released as a single. Hall & Oates took the song in 1985 for her concert album Live at the Apollo on again. Young's cover version of the song was on 27 July 1985, a number-one hit in the U.S.. It remained to be today 's only number-one hit in the U.S., another single from him yet reached the Top Ten. In the UK, the song reached # 4 The song won at the Brit Awards 1986, the award for Best British Video.

Young's cover version was recorded with a piano, bass and electric guitar.

At the end of the film Planes, Trains and Automobiles in 1987, The Song of the Blue Room is played. In 2006, Clay Aiken coverte the song on his CD A Thousand Different Ways. In 2009, the original Hall & Oates song was played in the film The Rebound.
