Everybody's Fine (1990 film)

Allen 's fine is an Italian film from 1990 by director Giuseppe Tornatore, who also co-wrote with Massimo De Rita, Tonino Guerra and the script to do so. Was published in 2009, the U.S. remake of Everybody's Fine.

Action

The widowed Sicilian Matteo Scuro was during the summer vacation let down by his five grown-up children who live in different cities on the African mainland italia. Despite the criticism of the neighbors Matteo remains optimistic, but his children are prevented because they are too busy in their responsible jobs.

Matteo decides to pay a surprise visit to each of his children. His journey by train takes him from south to north, via Naples, Rome, Florence, Milan and Turin. He finds his children each different than he had imagined, and each has something of those opera characters by which it has designated as opera fan his children: Tosca by Puccini's Tosca, Canio after the Pagliacci by Leoncavallo, Norma by Bellini's Norma, Guglielmo after Rossini's Guglielmo Tell and Verdi's La forza del Alvaro after destino.

When he returns to Sicily, he visits the grave of his wife and told her of the children, " Allen 's fine ."

Awards (selection)

At the International Film Festival of Cannes in 1990, the director was awarded the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury.

Composer Morricone was awarded for his work in 1991 with the David di Donatello.

Criticism

The lexicon of the International film ruled that the production was " full of cinematic image force and sensitive observations of human behavior ."
