Evita (Band)

Evita is a metalcore band from Bristol, United Kingdom. The band's name is derived from the eponymous musical Evita.

History

At the age of 17 years, the Friends Aaron Both Jack Sims and founded a small instrumental project, which they named Evita in August 2006. After the band had set up a full line-up, they began with the first demo recordings. This was followed in November 2007 with Like An Ocean We Rise Again the first EP, which was also distributed via the British independent label Glasstone Records.

In 2008, the band had to contend with some member changes: Only left in March guitarist and founding member Jack Sims, the band, as this was more of a hobby for him and with increasing success took too much time, then announced the band two months later the exit of drummer Lewis Robbins, which for lack of time, the band could no longer support one hundred percent. Jack could be replaced by Mike Thomson, who had been recently presented at a concert by the band as a guitarist and how they contacted after leaving Sims. As a new drummer was introduced in June 2008 Johno Fisher, whereupon the band announced a first album.

In November 2008, the band announced to have signed a recording contract with the London sedentary label Basick Records. This was followed between December 2008 and January 2009, the recordings for the first album, which was produced with the help of the former Burning Skies ' guitarist Chuck Creese. In July 2009, appeared with Minutes and Miles, the debut album of the band, which musical significantly differed from the first EP. Indeed, has the style of the EP Like An Ocean We Rise Again still assign the Deathcore, the new album of the band was influenced mainly by elements of melodic metal cores. In October 2009 the band announced their dissolution known because of lack of time, a continuation of the band would become impossible. In addition, it was no longer possible to cover the cost of the band, in addition to the revenue from concerts and CD sales through own money. On October 30, the band gave her the time being last concert in their hometown of Bristol.

In spring 2010, the band announced their reunion known, which was followed by a small tour from June to July. Furthermore, the band gave a participation in the Ghost Festival, and the Schools Out For Summer Festival. In early 2011 the band recorded two new songs, which were then digitally to purchase through iTunes. The songs were marked by clean vocals and were much quieter in contrast to the previous one. In July of the same year, the band released together with the originating from the county of Essex hardcore punk band Giants their first split EP, which self-titled the bands according to their own band name.
