Évry-Grégy-sur-Yerre

Evry - Grégy -sur- Yerre (sometimes called Evry - Grégy -sur- Yerres ) is a commune with 2485 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Seine- et- Marne in the Île- de -France region; it belongs to the district of the canton of Melun and Brie -Comte- Robert. She is a member of the Communauté de communes of Gués de l' Yerres. The inhabitants call themselves Évéryciens.

Geography

Evry - Grégy -sur- Yerre located 32 kilometers southeast of Paris. Neighboring communities include Limoges Fourches, Brie -Comte- Robert and Grisy- Suisnes. The municipality is crossed by the river Yerres.

History

The municipality was created in 1967 by the merger of the formerly independent communities of Evry -les- Châteaux and Grégy -sur- Yerre.
