Eyes of Fire

Eyes of Fire is an American doom metal and sludge band from Orange, California, which was founded in 1998 under the name of Shiva.

History

The band was founded in 1998 under the name of Shiva, after drummer Evan Killbourne had alighted at Mindrot. As this led to the dissolution of the band, founded singer and guitarist Dan Kaufman and vocalist and bassist Matt Fisher the band. Shortly thereafter, keyboardist Ben Smith and drummer John Haddad came to the occupation. Another guitarist also Cary Petersen was occupied. This was followed by tours with groups such as Meshuggah, Strapping Young Lad, Corrosion of Conformity, Lacuna Coil Napalm Death or by the United States. Then, the band recorded a demo which they sent to various labels, which could obtain a contract with Century Media, the band. Under the guidance of producer Cameron Webb, the band recorded their debut album, Ashes to Embers. Shortly after the release left keyboardist Smith in March 2004, the band and was replaced by Pete Truax. In August Haddad drummer left the band. As a new guitarist Bobby Thomas and came as the new drummer Nicky Bernardi to fill. In autumn, the band went along with Danzig on tour in the U.S. along with Doyle, Mayhem, Death Angel and Devil Driver. In early 2005, the band played with Danzig and Kataklysm concerts in the United States. Then the band went into the Grand Master Studios to record the album Prisons, with Matt Bayles worked as a producer. The album was released in early February 2006. For the video for the song It All Dies Today Gary Smithson worked as a director. The release was followed by appearances, including concerts in the U.S. together with Apocalyptica.

Style

The sound of music varies from dark and positive atmosphere between soft and hard sounds and harmonious and dissonant sequences. The game of the drums is dynamic, while also varies between empathetic singing the vocals and aggressive screaming. The band can be classified between groups like Neurosis, Isis, and Anathema.
