F. R. David

FR David ( born January 1, 1947 in Menzel Bourguiba (Tunisia ); Eli Robert Fitoussi actually ) is a pop singer who was known in the early 1980s.

Life

David moved with his parents in 1957 to Paris. Even teenage received Robert Fitoussi, who collected his first experiences with various bands (Les Trèfles, Les Boots, Les Jets, Les Hot beats and Sans Nom ) in London, his first record deal in 1967, for the first time under his pseudonym F. R. David from which in the late 1960s, there were some singles. In 1972, he played the guitar and percussion with Vangelis on his album Earth.

He then joined the French-Moroccan hard rock and " Electric Blues " band Les Variations. As broke up this successful band, he lived for five years as a studio musician in the U.S., where he worked for Ray Charles, Toto, the Doobie Brothers, Richie Havens and The O'Jays.

In 1978, he teamed up with Marc Tobaly, the ex-guitarist of Les Variations, for the produced by David Krebs Project King of Hearts and released an album and a single.

Its author, he even worldwide hit Words from 1982 sold more than eight million copies. First, he reached the top spot of the French singles chart in April 1983, he took second place in the UK in August 1982 and # 1 on the singles chart in Germany.
