Fabiana patagonica is a species of the genus Fabiana in the nightshade family (Solanaceae ).

Description

Fabiana patagonica is an up to 2 m tall shrub with strong glandular hairs. The branches are upright and pliable. The leaves are available individually or - especially at the tips of branches - in clusters on short shoots. The flowers are individually on the short shoots or rarely terminal on the main branches up to 4 mm long pedicles. The calyx is 5 to 8.5 mm (rarely 4-9 ) mm long, has a tubular calyx tube, which is filled with long triangular and almost equally long lobes. The crown is 11 to 20 (rarely to 21.5 ) mm long and dished. The corolla tube is straight and extended below the tip. The stamens are the same multiform, the anthers elliptic and 0.8 to 1.4 × 0.6 to 1.3 mm in size, the counters are fused together. The scar is capitate and slightly depressed. The fruit is a capsule, 6-8 mm in length. The seeds are 1.3 to 1.8 × 0.6 to 0.9 × 0.5 mm in size.

Dissemination

The species is widespread in Bolivia and Argentina, growing at altitudes 1200-4000 m.
