Fabricius (crater)

Fabricius is an impact crater in the southern part of the Moon 's front panel. It lies north of the large crater Janssen, whose rampart he partially covered, and southwest of Metius. In the northeast, the large moon valley Vallis Rheita runs. The crater is only slightly eroded, has pronounced terracing of the inner walls and a central massif.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the East Frisian astronomer David Fabricius.
