FALCON (cable system)
FALCON is a submarine a submarine fiber-optic backbone that connects India with several countries in the Persian Gulf. Operator is the Indian company Flag Telecom, a 100 percent subsidiary of Reliance Communications.

Submarine cable damage on 1 February 2008
The FALCON submarine cable was damaged on February 1, 2008 at 5:59 UTC. This occurred 56 km off Dubai in the United Arab Emirates in the segment to Oman back, just two days after servicing the FLAG and SEA- ME- HS4 cable.
Reports on the failure were confirmed by news organizations such as CNN.
A ankerndes off the coast of Dubai's ship to have been responsible for the failure. It was found during the repair work a five to six -ton anchor. The cable was again operational as of February 11, 2008.
