Falenko
Region
Falenko (also: Falanko ) is a rural municipality in the department of Tanout in Niger.
Geography
Falenko lies in the Sahel. The neighboring municipalities are Gangara in the north, Olléléwa in the east, in the southeast Tirmini, Ourafane in the south, El Allassane Maïreyrey in the southwest and Tarka the west. The main town of the rural community is the administrative village Falenko.
History
The rural community Falenko went out in 2002 as part of a nationwide administrative reform from the southern part of the canton Gangara.
Population
For the year 2010 4417 population were calculated. In Falenko members of the mainly agriculture based Hausa subgroups Gobirawa and Damagarawa and specialized in remote pasture Fulbe subgroup Oudah'en live.
