Fanny Rabel

Fanny Rabel ( born August 27, 1922 in Poland, † November 25, 2008 in Mexico City; actually Fanny Rabinovich ) was working in Mexico artist of Polish origin.

Biography

Rabinovich, daughter of a Jewish theater theatrical family, came to Paris in 1929 and began her artistic training here. In 1938 she came to Mexico and took there at the Escuela Nocturna para Trabajadores graphics and sculpture classes. From 1942 she studied at the Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado " La Esmeralda". She studied with José Chávez Morado, Feliciano Peña and Arturo García Bustos scored next, Guillermo Monroy and Arturo Estrada to the students of Frida Kahlo, which became known as " Los Fridos ". In addition, she assisted David Alfaro Siqueiros and Diego Rivera later in the murals at the Palacio Nacional. In 1945, she was in the league Popular Israelita her first solo exhibition. In 1948 she was among the founding members of the Sociedad para el Impulso de las Artes Plásticas, 1952 among the founders of the Frente Nacional de Artes Plásticas ( FNAP ) and 1949-1961 member of the Taller de Grafica Popular. Her works include murals at the Israelite sports center in the Mexican capital and the Museo Nacional de Antropología in Mexico City.
