Faustulus is the king Shirte from Roman mythology.

After the Roman legend, he was the chief shepherd of the king Amulius and married Acca Larentia. Faustulus found the abandoned on the Tiber twins Romulus and Remus. He took the brothers at home and pulled it big with his wife. When he with two brothers had a fight one day, he had both appear before Numitor Silvius, the outcast king of Alba Longa, and told him the story. The former king came immediately behind the fact that they were his grandchildren, who raised the shepherd, the children of his daughter Rhea Silvia and the god of war Mars.
