FC Gratkorn

The FC Gratkorn is an Austrian football club from the Styrian municipality Gratkorn and played from 2004 to 2011 in the First League, the second highest playing level of the country.

History

The club was founded in 1921 as a sports club Gratkorn and took in 1936 at the Styrian league. In 1996, he was national champion and subsequently launched with new names " FC Gratkorn " in the third-tier Regionalliga Mitte. In the 2003 /04 season the club finished under coach Michael Fuchs ( †) the Regional in the first place before the TSV Hartberg and rose to second in the league. The mature Relegation could be mastered quite close with a 0-0 and 1-1 against the SC -ESV Parndorf 1919.

In the first year in the First League 2004/ 05 still equal on points with the bottom club reached the FC Gratkorn in the following two championships each fifth. The high point of the club's history reached the Gratkorn in the 2007/08 season, which they finished as runners-up of the First League behind the Kapfenberg SV. In the 2010/11 season the club was relegated as Table after seven years as part of the First League in the Regionalliga.

On 26 June 2013, the club went bankrupt. Previously, it was still trying to make with the also insolvent Grazer AK a game community. The indebtedness is about 480,000 euros, mainly about 170,000 euros of bank liabilities, approximately 170,000 euros to the tax office debts and payable in the amount of 123,000 euros are to call on players and coaches salaries. The insolvency was established by the association with the relegation from the First Division and the associated elimination of television money. It will try to continue the operation of gambling as an amateur club.
