FC Hradec Králové

The FC Hradec Králové is a Czech football club from the north-east Bohemian town of Hradec Králové, which plays in the 2012/13 season in the Gambrinus Liga.

Club history

The club was founded in 1905 as SK Hradec Králové.

1919 won the team in the East Bohemian district and took part in the final round of the Czech Football Cup, but lost all three games. 1922 reached the SK Hradec Králové the final of the Czech Championship, but lost in the final against Sparta Prague 0:7. 1930 reached the final of the Club at the Czechoslovak Amateur Championship, but failed already in the first round.

1934 failed the team just wide of the promotion to the 1st League, it was not until after the Second World War in 1955 under the name TJ Spartak Hradec Králové. After just two seasons as the team rose again in 1958, but managed its chances of promotion.

1959/60 Spartak Hradec Králové was promoted as sensational Czechoslovakian football champions. In Europe Champions Cup, the team failed in the 2nd round with 0:4 and 1:1 at FC Barcelona. At this success Spartak was unable to build and rose again in 1964, after only one year, however, again, it immediately followed the next descent. 1972/73 gave the club a further one-year stint in the first league.

1975 rose from Hradec Králové even in the third league in which you 1975/76 only came in eleventh place. 1977 managed to return in the second highest league. 1980 managed the team to return to the first league, but again again just for one season. 1983 Spartak fell again in the third league that he could leave up after only one year. 1988/89 they played for a year in the first league in which you could set from 1990 for a long time. 1995 succeeded the SK Hradec Králové by winning the Czech Football Cup a big surprise. In Europe Cup Winners' Cup in Hradec Králové was eliminated in the second round on penalties against Dynamo Moscow.

2000, the SK adopted from the first league, but managed after only one season of resurgence. The next descent followed by 2003. Subsequently, in 2005 renamed FC Hradec Králové club played in the 2nd league before the season 2009/10 second division succeeded as master of promotion to the Gambrinus Liga.

Club name

Until 1948 the club was called SK Hradec Králové. The first was renamed in 1948 in Sokol Hradec Králové. From 1949 to 1953 the club was called Sokol Škoda Hradec Králové, 1953-1976 TJ Spartak Hradec Králové, then to 1989 TJ Spartak Hradec Králové ACR. 1989/90 called the club TJ Spartak RH ACR Hradec Králové, 1990-1993 then SKP Spartak Hradec Králové. 1993/94 was named the club SKP Fomei Hradec Kralove, then again SK Hradec Králové. In 2005 there was the last time being renamed to FC Hradec Králové.
