FC Metalurgi Rustavi

The FC Metalurgi Rustavi (Georgian ოლიმპი რუსთავი; until 2011 FC Olimpi Rustavi ) is a football club based in the Georgian town of Rustavi. The stadium of the club is the Poladi Stadium, which offers 12,000 spectators. Metalurgi Rustavi arose from the merger of the Georgian clubs Olimpi Tbilisi and FC Tbilisi in 2006. 2007 the club won for the first time Umaghlessi League, the highest Georgian league.

In the 2007 /08 season the club in the first qualifying round took to the UEFA Champions League in part, but failed in the Kazakh champions FK Astana with 0:0 and 0:3.

The club was defeated in the European Cup 2010/11 season in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League the Kazakh champions FK Aktobe 0:2 and 1:1.

The best known of the current squad is the Georgian national team Levan Silagadse that has so far played 21 caps for his country.
