FC Zimbru Chișinău

Football Club Zimbru Chişinău (Russian фк Зимбру Кишинёв ) is a Moldovan football club from the capital Chisinau.

History

The club was founded in 1947 under the name of Dinamo Chisinau, but called himself three years later in Burevestnik to Chisinau. Under this name, succeeded in 1955, the rise in the first Soviet league. In 1958 the club was called Chisinau Moldova. This is the name of the club in 1964 dismounted from the first division. Up to 1965 and from 1967 to 1971, the association Moldova Chisinau was called, 1966 for one year Aventul Chisinau. Under the given name Nistru Chişinău in 1972 1973 and 1982 succeeded the return to the top flight, after each season, however, you had to go back. In 1986, even went to the third tier, until 1988 managed to rise again.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the resulting independence of Moldova to the club 's present name was given and the team took as a founding member of the game operating in Divizia Naţională part. The league was clearly dominated in the 1990s, to 2000 won Zimbru Chişinău, with the exception of the 1996/97 season all the championships. Since then, the supremacy of Sheriff Tiraspol had to be ceded.

After 1995, the Cup final against Tiligul Tiraspol was still lost, Zimbru brought in 1997 against Nistru Otaci after a successful penalty kicks for the first time the trophy. Four more titles to follow.
