Fear 3 (proper spelling: F.3.AR ) is a first-person shooter of the U.S. Entwicklungers Day1 Studios Warner Bros. Interactive. It is the sequel to FEAR 2: Project Origin. The game was released on June 24, 2011 for Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3

Action

The plot seats eight months after the events of its predecessor. The former antagonist Paxton Fettel frees the Point Man, the player character of the first part, and brother Fettels, which has been fixed by the security forces of Armacham Corporation for interviews in a Central American asylum. The two offending for FEAR agents Jin Sun -Kwon and get new information about Alma Wade. Together the brothers try the full story behind the creation of Alma uncover by Armacham. The player takes in the game but with optional control of Point Man or Fettels.

Development

In April 2010, Warner Bros. announced the third part of Fear series. The first-person shooter was not developed by Monolith Productions, but by Day 1 Studios, who had already worked on the console port of Fear. It was announced that the film director John Carpenter and writer Steve Niles comic were involved as a consultant on the project.

Reception

The Swiss online magazine GBase.ch awarded 7.5 out of 10 for the PC and Xbox 360 version. Praised the graphics, the enemy AI and the challenging battles were. They criticized the lack of manual memory function, low creepiness and the " suboptimal" cover system. The Game Star awarded 70 % and ruled as a conclusion: " Horror Free but solid Schießmichtot. ". The Games evaluated the PC shooter with 76 % and criticized, inter alia, the dusty graphics and the story. 4players assessed the Xbox, PS3 and Windows version, each with 73%. The Computer Bild Spiele classified all three versions as good, but criticized the graphics and small arms range. Blessed was the co-op mode and the enemy AI. Gamona only awarded 68 % and the third part titled as the worst of the series. The German online magazine Xboxdynastie.de awarded 8.5 out of 10 for the Xbox 360 version.
