Federal Correctional Institution, Terminal Island
The Federal Correctional Institution, Terminal Iceland (FCI Terminal Iceland ) is a federal prison in the lower level of security for 1,150 male inmates in California. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a subdivision of the United States Department of Justice.
FCI Terminal Iceland is located in the entrance of the Los Angeles Harbor, between San Pedro and Long Beach.
Facility
All inmates will be assigned a regular job, unless they are medically exempt. Institutional maintenance are the most common work that will be awarded. The prison also receives a metal factory that produce high-quality metal products. Federal Prison Industries, Inc. has signed an agreement with FCI Terminal Iceland, which has specialized in the repair, restoration and repair of furniture, office equipment, tires and other state property.
