Federation Tower

Federazija (Russian Федерация; German " Federation" ) is the name of a skyscraper under construction since 2005 in the new Moscow business district Moscow City.

The building complex consists of two towers: The still under construction, 360 meter high tower with 93 floors has the official name Vostok, the 252 meter high tower with 62 floors the name Sapad ( German according to the "East" and "West" or "Orient " and " Occident "). Between the towers a 506 meter high antenna will arise.

The complex should be completed according to plan in 2011. It was first started with the construction of the smaller Sapad - tower, which was completed in 2008. It was followed by the construction of the Vostok tower, which was interrupted due to the financial crisis. In the meantime, this should be accomplished with only 243 meters final height. In autumn 2011, Russia's Sberbank bought the 85th and 86th floor for their own VIP office in the higher tower Vostok and gave a loan of 370 million U.S. dollars for the completion of the construction project in original design in 2014.

Architects of the building of the Berlin Sergei Tchoban and Hamburger Peter Schweger. The construction costs amount to approximately 390 million euros. The building will feature in the top two floors of restaurants, a viewing platform and a health club with swimming pool. 30 floors is the Russian bank VTB, which financed 50 % of total investments, take claim for themselves. In addition, a large part of the tower Vostok is reserved for the luxury hotel Grand Hyatt Moscow.

On April 2, 2012 broke out in 67th floor of the Towers Vostok at an altitude of about 250 meters from a fire. Also underlying floors were reached by the fire that could be brought by firefighters using helicopters under control.
