Federico Pellegrino

Federico Pellegrino ( born September 1, 1990 in Aosta ) is an Italian cross country skier.

Pellegrino made ​​his first international use at the Junior World Championship 2009 in Praz de Lys Sommand where his best result was the 25th place in the sprint competition. The following year he won the bronze medal in the sprint competition behind the Norwegians Petter Northug and Paal Golberg at the Nordic Junior World Championship 2010 in Hinterzarten. After a victory in the Slavic Cup he was nominated for his first appearance in the Cross Country World Cup. However, the sprint in Drammen, he failed to qualify. But now three days later he won in Oslo with number 19 his first World Cup points. Since the season 2010/11 Pellegrino regularly launches at Sprint competitions in the World Cup. After he still clearly missed qualifying for the finals in Dusseldorf, he surprised in Davos with the fastest qualifying time. He reached the finals and celebrated with sixth place his first top ten result. But even at its next assignment at the World Cup in Liberec, he again reached the finals and had to admit defeat to the Norwegian Ola Vigen Hattestad.
