Feilebach

BW

The Feilebach is a left tributary of the White Elster.

Geography

The Feilebach arises in an open area west of the village Gassenreuth, community Triebel / Vogtl. in Saxony near the border with Bavaria. First, it flows in a northwesterly direction parallel to the border. At one point, it is touching. However, the stream is piped here due to the former border fortifications. By the forebay Wiedersberg the Feilebach flows through the nature reserves and NSG NSG Fuchspöhl Feilebach, both part of the project Green Belt. From Wiedersberg the direction of flow conditions NO changes. Then the Feilebach is dammed three times, first in the forebay Ramoldsreuth -South, then in the pre-dam Ramoldreuth and finally in the drinking water reservoir Dröda, also called Dam Feilebach. Within the storage area of the Feilebach absorbs the water of its largest tributary, the sheep creek. Located near the motorway bridge at Pirk opens the Feilebach in the Weisse Elster. Especially in the lower reaches of the Feilebach has formed a 60 to 100 m deep Sohlental.
