The Feldkahl is a left tributary of the Kahl in the Aschaffenburg district in the Bavarian Spessart.

Name

The name Feldkahl goes Velt from the Middle High German word that field means forth. This refers to the fields in the headwaters of the creek. For the origin of the word Kahl see Name of Kahl. The brook gave the place its name Feldkahl.

Course

The source of Feldkahl located in Rottenberg, a municipality part of Hoesbach. At high water level it arises as a field Kahlenbach above the village, near the outdoor pool and flows through some gardens southeast. This Quellarm leads in the summer but often little, sometimes no water at all. The source of Feldkahl is in dry days below Rottenberg.
