Feliciano Chiclana

Antonio Feliciano Chiclana ( born June 9, 1761 Buenos Aires, † September 17, 1826 ) was an Argentine politician, military, judges and attorneys.

Life

Chiclana studied law at the University of Chile in Santiago, where he graduated in 1783 admitted to the bar. On his return to Argentina, he decided to first for an operation as a lawyer, but occurred during the independence movement in Argentina during the May Revolution in the Army and later became a captain and colonel. In August 1810, he took over as governor of the administration of the province of Santiago del Estero, Salta Province and of the department of Potosí.

In September 1811, he was together with Juan José Paso and Manuel de Sarratea member of the First Triumvirate. This office he held until October 1812. In November 1812 he was again governor of Salta. In 1817 he spoke out against the official leadership of Juan Martín de Pueyrredón, so he had to go into exile in Baltimore. From 1817 to 1818 he lived in the U.S. exile. In 1822 he retired and died in September 1826 in Buenos Aires. He was also buried there.
