Felipe de Jesús Estévez

Felipe de Jesús Estévez ( born February 5, 1946 in Pedro Betancourt ) is Bishop of Saint Augustine.

Life

Felipe de Jesús Estévez received on May 30, 1970, ordained priest for the Diocese of Matanzas Cuba. He was incardinated in February 1979 in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Miami.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 21 November 2003 as Auxiliary Bishop in Miami and Titular Bishop of Kearney.

The Archbishop of Miami, John Clement Favalora, donated to him on 7 January of the next year, the episcopal ordination; Pedro Claro Meurice were co-consecrators Estiu, Archbishop of Santiago de Cuba, and Thomas James Olmsted, Bishop of Phoenix. As a motto he chose In finem dilexit eos.

On 27 April 2011 he was appointed Bishop of Saint Augustine, and introduced into the office on 2 June of the same year.
