Ferenc Ilyés [ fɛrɛnʦ ije ː ʃ ] ( born December 20, 1981 in Odorheiu Secuiesc, Romania) is a Hungarian- Romanian handball player szeklerischer descent. He is 1.98 meters tall.

Ilyés, who plays for Hungarian club Pick Szeged and the Hungarian men's national handball team ( back number 3) runs, is used mostly in the left back.

Ferenc Ilyés began in his Transylvanian home town with the handball game. There he was discovered by talent scouts of the Hungarian top clubs Pick Szeged and brought to Hungary. In 2000, he debuted for the first time in the first team of Szeged, but at first could not prevail. He was then loaned during the winter break of the season 2001/ 02 for half a year at Mako KC. After his return Ilyés now managed the breakthrough and developed in the following years for performers of his team. The end of 2003 he participated in the Hungarian citizenship and made his debut in the Hungarian national team. During his time in Szeged he won the 2006 Hungarian Cup and Hungarian Championship 2007. In 2007, he decided - how many players of Szeged before - to move to the rival and record holder MKB Veszprém. In 2008 he won with Veszprém the European Cup winners and the Hungarian Championship. Since the 2009/2010 season Ilyés plays in the Handball - Bundesliga for the TBV Lemgo. There he won the 2010 EHF Cup. In summer 2011 he returned to Veszprém. A year later Ilyés joined the Polish first division club Wisła Płock. Since the 2013/14 season, he runs back up for Pick Szeged.

Ferenc Ilyés has been disputed over 184 caps for the Hungarian men's national handball team. With Hungary he was at the World Handball Championship in 2004 and finished ninth at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens in fourth. With Hungary he also took part in the Men's Handball World Championship for Men in Germany in 2007 but finished only 9th place. In the summer of 2012, he again took part in the London Olympics and finished fourth.
