Fernando Cabrera (baseball)

Fernando José Cabrera ( born November 16, 1981 in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico ) is a Puerto Rican baseball player, baseball stands since 2009 for the Boston Red Sox in Major League contract.

Career

Cabrera was selected in the Major League Baseball Draft in 1999 by the Cleveland Indians in the tenth round, where he was awarded a contract in August of the same year. For the Indians he gave on 20 April 2004 his debut in the MLB, where he was active in the following four years. In the 2007 and 2008 season, he played for the Baltimore Orioles, respectively, but did not renew his contract and released him put on 5 September 2008.

On 27 January 2009 he signed a minor league contract with the Boston Red Sox.

Internationally

For Puerto Rico Cabrera took part in the World Baseball Classic in 2006 and 2009.
