Fernando Giner

Fernando Gil Giner ( born December 31, 1964 in Alboraya ) is a former Spanish footballer.

Career

Clubs

Giner signed his first professional contract in 1982 at Valencia. After the descent in the 1985/86 season he moved up to the root formation and contributed to the resurgence in direct. In the following years he also developed in the Primera División a reliable defender. Until his somewhat surprising change in 1995, he played 257 top-flight appearances for Valencia and scored 14 goals.

From 1995 to 1997 Giner unlaced his boots for Sporting Gijon. He subsequently transferred to the Segunda División to Hércules CF before he played in the Segunda División B for Levante UD. With Levante it took a further rise. After the 1999/2000 season, he finished his career.

National

Giner denied eleven caps for the Spanish national team. His debut was on April 17, 1991 as part of a 0-2 defeat against Romania.
