Fighter (song)

Fighter is the third single from Christina Aguilera's second studio album Stripped. The song was released as a single in 2003 and reached number twenty in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, where it was Aguilera's ninth top 20 single. Fighter reached number three in the UK and Canada and number five in Australia.

Background

Fighter was written by Aguilera and Scott Storch and produced by Storch. The guitarist Dave Navarro was responsible for the guitar sound. Thus, it is Aguilera's first song that contains rock elements.

Fighter is one of the most popular of Aguilera's songs. As the song the official anthem of the NBA Playoffs in 2003, was heard at the finals of the NBA millions of viewers of the live Aguilera sung song. The music video was filmed during the Finals.

Commercial success

Fighter in the U.S. had only mediocre success, reaching number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100

Internationally, the song was successful, reaching the Top 5 in the United Kingdom and Canada, the top 20 in almost all European countries, # 5 in Australia, number 14 in New Zealand and 2nd place in Israel. The single sold worldwide to date over 3.54 million times.
