Burlesque is a soundtrack album by Christina Aguilera and Cher film Burlesque. It was released on November 22, 2010 by Aguilera's record label RCA Records. The first single of the soundtrack 2010 Express was released on November 19. The album contains 10 tracks, eight tracks have been recorded by Aguilera and two by Cher, there are Cher's first recordings for seven years. The album was praised by music critics, especially Cher's comeback with the title You Have not Seen the Last of Me

Background and production

After Christina Aguilera finished the work on her fourth studio album, Bionic, she began with the producers Tricky Stewart in the work on the soundtrack album for the film Burlesque. Together Aguilera and Stewart wrote the first songs of the soundtrack, Show Me How You Burlesque and Express. Stewart also produced other tracks of the album. He also produced two remakes of the soundtrack - Somethings Got a Hold On Me and Tough Lover. Songwriter Claude Kelly confirmed that he wrote three songs for the film.

Singer- songwriter Sia Furler has worked with Aguilera on a title for the film. Producer Danja has also worked on the soundtrack with. Linda Perry and Ron Fair and participated in work on the soundtrack. Cher recorded two songs for the album: the title song Welcome to Burlesque and the power ballad You Have not Seen the Last of Me, which was written by Diane Warren and produced by Matt Serletic. The song is Cher's first song in seven years. Aguilera stated that she wanted for the soundtrack of a similar sound like their album Back to Basics from 2006, with a modern sound and a " strong bass rhythm, old-school trumpets - and so on, stop with the sound of the 20s, 30s, 40 in a modern style, burlesque theme ". They further stated that the title Bound to You is her favorite song on the album; she wrote the song together with the musician Sia.

Criticism

In the United States, the album debuted at number 18 on the Billboard 200 with 63,000 units sold in the first week. In iTunes, the album debuted at number 1

Stephen Thomas Erlewine of Allmusic praised the album and described it as Aguilera's musical comeback after her modest success with Bionic, the soundtrack is a continuation from her album Back to Basics. He also praised the production of the soundtrack and the success of the compositions, he said: "This album is great, particularly when Christina swings her hips to Etta James, thus Aguilera creates some followers of Is not No Other Man on Burlesque ." Publication and Promotion

Aguilera also appeared on Dancing With the Stars live on, and the first time she sang the title Show Me How You Burlesque.

The first single from the soundtrack had its premiere on Ryan Seacrest's Express KIIS FM radio show on November 3, 2010. Officially, the song was released on 19 November 2010. Cher's ballad You Have not Seen the Last of Me was released on December 14, 2010. The end of November appeared 4 official remixes to the title. In February 2011 it was released as a maxi-single.
