Fighting the World is the fifth studio album by the American metal band Manowar True and was released on 14 May 1987.

Formation

Soon after the release of Sign of the Hammer Manowar lost their recording contract with 10 Records. The search for a record company was difficult, after one and a half years, the band struck gold with the major label Atlantic Records. The connection to a major label benefited from the production: Fighting the World is much better produced than the previous albums. It was the first metal album recorded entirely digitally, which, according to Marc Halupczok from the German Metal Hammer " course at the sound of impact ", and represents the Manowar singer Eric Adams 's view, the birth of a new metal sound dar. The worldwide distribution enabled the band finally the breakthrough.

All tracks were written by Joey DeMaio. The pictures on the cover were created by Ken Kelly, who is responsible for the illustrations on this album.

2008 brought the guitarist Ross "The Boss" Friedman, a member of the Fighting - the-world occupation, the accusation that the drums of the album was recorded with a drum machine, so the nominal drummer Scott Columbus stopped at no time of the recording in the studio have.

  • The Fun German metal band J.B.O. in 1995 on the album Explicit lyrics the song Carry On parody. In J.B.O. is called the song J.B.O. therefore and is about how the band has formed ( with respect to Manowar song, which also deals with the beginning of the tape ).
  • Similarly, the German Middle Ages fun band Feuerschwanz has the song Carry On parody. With them is called the piece Feuerschwanz and is represented as a hidden track on the album Prima Nocte.
  • The album received a gold record for 250,000 copies sold in 1994. This Manowar received their first gold record.
