Figure-of-nine loop
The nine nodes is a kind of increase of eight knot. But he has only one turn more and no resemblance to a nine. Tied with a single strand of rope, he is also known under the name Edelridknoten.
Application
The nine nodes is rarely used. He should pull even less than the figure-eight knot and it is therefore proposed, for example, for the construction of cable cars and hauling. The corresponding measurements, there are, for example, here (PDF file, 1.38 MB). (P.26 (Sheet No. 3), referred to as Edelridknoten )
Tie
First, a loop is placed. With this, a double loop is set and this is formed by twisting to an "8". This " 8" one more time will be rotated. The loop is then passed through the eye.

Alternatives
- When climbing, always the figure-eight knot, or double bowline is used to embed in the harness.
- The simplest loop is the leader node.
- The butterfly knot is also used rarely.
Modifications
The fishermen use similar nodes. ( Angler node )
