Filipe Morais

Filipe Alexandre Morais ( born November 21, 1985 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese football player. The attacking right-sided midfielder is since the 2007 /08 season at the Scottish first division club Hibernian under contract.

Career

Born in Portugal Morais grew up in London, where he was trained at the Youth Academy of Chelsea football player. Here he was four years; In 2003 he became a professional at the top London club, but was used only in youth teams. In early 2006, he was loaned out for a few months at third division Milton Keynes Dons. Here he made on 31 January 2006 his first league game; against Nottingham Forest he came on in the 61st minute.

For the 2006/07 season he was transferred to FC Millwall, who loaned him in January 2007 to FC St. Johnstone in the Scottish second division. His only scoring for St. Johnstone, he celebrated on 17 February 2007, when he scored in the McDiarmid Park two minutes after coming off the bench against Hamilton Academical in the 84 minutes the goal for a 4-2 final score. For the season 2007/ 08 he moved to the Scottish Premier League Hibernian FC to, in which he received a two- year contract. His first goal for the team from Edinburgh, he scored in the Scottish League Cup; it was the scorer for the defending champions 1-0 in a 2-1 win at Queen's Park.

Morais has been used in the Portuguese U-21 national team.
