Filippo Giustini

Filippo Cardinal Giustini ( born May 8, 1852 in Cineto Romano, Rome Italy Province; † March 18, 1920 in Rome ) was a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Filippo Giustini received his theological and philosophical education in the seminary of Tivoli and Rome. He received on 23 December 1876, the sacrament of Holy Orders, and then worked as a lecturer in Tivoli and Rome. 1886 he was appointed by Pope Leo XIII. the secret chamberlain of His Holiness, 1891 canons of the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere. From 1892 Filippo Giustini worked as a consultant for the CDF, 1897 he was auditor of the Roman Rota, 1902 Secretary of the Congregation for Bishops. Filippo Giustini was a member from 1904 to the Pontifical Commission for the codification of Canon Law, and in 1908 Secretary of the Sacrament Congregation.

Pope Pius X took Filippo Giustini on May 25, 1914 as cardinal deacon with the title Diakonia Sant'Angelo in Pescheria in the College of Cardinals to. Pope Benedict XV. transferred Filipo Cardinal Giustini on 14 October 1914, the Office of the Prefect of the Congregation sacrament.

Filipo Cardinal Giustini died on 18 March 1920 in Rome and was buried in the local cemetery " Campo Verano ".
