The parliamentary elections in 2007 in Finland was held on 18 March 2007. It was the election of the 35th Parliament of Finland.

Winner of the election was as early as 2003 with 23.1 %, the Finnish Centre Party under the leadership of Matti Vanhanen in front of the National Coalition Party 22.3 %, the import, the biggest gains. The Social Democratic Party of Finland, in 2003 the second strongest, lost more than three percentage points. Of the smaller party stood out above all the base Finns, who increased their earnings from 1.6% to 4.1%.

The same eight parties as in 2003 made ​​their way into the parliament. The government Vanhanen I from the center, the Social Democrats and the Swedish People's Party was replaced after the election by the government Vanhanen II from the center, the National Coalition Party, the Greens and the Swedish People's Party.

Government

Vanhanen formed a government with the National Coalition Party, the Greens Federation and the Swedish People's Party. After he announced his resignation in 2009, took over on 22 June 2010 Mari Kiviniemi office.
