Firmicus (crater)

Firmicus is an impact crater on the eastern edge of the lunar front side, west of the Mare Undarum and east of the Lacus Perseverantiae, northeast of the crater Apollonius. The rim is moderately eroded, the interior is flooded by lavas penetrated the Lacus Perseverantiae and therefore relatively flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the ancient astrologers Iulius Firmicus Maternus.
